“How Do I Know What Size Is the Right Size?”

Necklace and Chain Size Guide

Alas, one size doesn’t always fit all, even with jewelry. People come in different sizes. When you purchase jewelry for yourself or as a gift for someone else, it’s important to know the correct size.

Below you will find size guides and tips to help you make the right choice.

Choosing Chain Lengths for Women

Consider where you are most likely going to wear the necklace or chain and the outfit that you will wear with it. Some women may wear different lengths to suit their mood and personal style. A choker style (normally 14-16” in length) may look great with a cute party dress but won’t fit over a turtleneck. Take your body size into account. A 24” chain on a petite woman may be too long, but may be perfect for a taller woman.

Choosing Chain Lengths for Men

Most men’s necklaces typically hang at the collar bone, which is typically about 20” long. If the chain has a medallion, cross, or dog tag, a slightly longer length is recommended. Multiple chains of different sizes can be worn for a layered effect.
